The "Implementation Standard" is a mandatory national standard for clothing products in China - the "National Basic Safety Technical Specification for Textile Products". Starting from January 1, 2006, clothing without relevant safety signs will be banned from sale. The "Specification" divides textile products into three categories: A, B, and C. It establishes restrictions on safety and physical characteristics such as formaldehyde content, pH value, and water wash color fastness (moisture resistance, sweat resistance, dry rubbing, saliva resistance), and stipulates that products must not have strong odors or use degradable aromatic amine dyes. Class A is for maternal and child products, Class B is for products that come into direct contact with the skin, and Class C is for products that do not come into direct contact with the skin. The Regulation requires that from January 1, 2006, all clothing and decorative textiles sold in the market should indicate the product classification on the tags, labels, identification or usage methods, and should not be written or modified. Consumers must indicate the product execution standard on the washing label or price tag when purchasing clothing products, otherwise it will be considered as unqualified products.
